Roero Riserva, what wine is it?
The Nebbiolo vines that cover the Roero hills are the tradition, culture, pride and pride of the Roero winemakers. Nebbiolo has ancient origins, it is in fact mentioned by Roman writers and medieval chronicles. Its name is of uncertain etymology: there are those who trace it back to the late harvest, carried out when the first mists descend on the vineyards. Or the fact that the grapes are covered with an impalpable layer of grey-blue colour, reminiscent of fog. It flowers early and ripens late: this allows the plant to accumulate large quantities of organic substances and to supply the berries well, whose composition is therefore complete, to the full advantage of the richness and complexity of the wine. Roero Riserva is its maximum expression.
